The loss of innocent lives (in schools, of all places) has sent shockwaves throughout society. Measures therefore need to be taken to prevent such tragedies from happening again.

After all, employers have to protect themselves, their existing personnel, and their stakeholders from possible instances of fraud or falsification. Otherwise, they can only be held accountable for the failure to conduct the appropriate background checks.
